Two RAF Typhoon jets were forced to land at Liverpool John Lennon airport early this morning.

The jets were heading back to base at Lossiemouth but were forced to land in the North West for “urgent refuelling” at around 1am.

It is reported that the Typhoons were on routine operations but bad weather forced them to divert.
