Posted on March 8, 2019

Christopher Duggan, 28, of Ford Street, Swindon, was spotted near Junction 16 on Sunday 3 February.
Swindon Magistrates’ Court heard he sped away from police before being stopped near Membury Services.
Duggan, an Army mechanic, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving under the influence and will appear at Swindon Crown Court at a later date.
The court heard Duggan had been drinking in Royal Wootton Bassett and chose to drive his Saab 900 home.
After his arrest, a breath test recorded a minimum of 82 mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.
Duggan said he was too scared to turn round when he realised he was driving the wrong way, and called what happened “a drunken action”.
