Russian Ships “intercepted” in the English Channel

A ROYAL Navy vessel headed off two Russian assault ships as they steamed up the English Channel yesterday, it has been revealed.

HMS Severn intercepted the two ships just hours after The Herald reported how Plymouth-based HMS Montrose was sent to deal with a Russian warship off the Danish coast.

The Sun newspaper reported how the two Russian ships intercepted by HMS Severn yesterday were sailing from the Mediterranean to one of the country’s naval bases.
