Former RAF Corporal Robbed While Laying Injured

Posted on July 9, 2014

A former RAF corporal robbed as he lay bleeding from a “horrific” motorbike accident today begged witnesses to help catch the callous thief who left him for dead.

Craig Stevens, 51, lay in the road with blood pouring from his leg following the smash in Hayes, west London, last month.

Blood-thinning medication to treat the effects of leukaemia made the blood loss worse.

But instead of helping the aircraft engineer, who served during the Gulf War in an RAF career spanning eight years, one man rifled through his pockets stealing £40 as he lay helpless.

Police today issued the first image of the suspect caught on another motorcyclist’s head camera.

The Evening Standard takes up the story>
